When Augustine was near the end of his life, he wrote a book called Retractationes (in English, Retractions, but that title is a bit misleading). In it he went through his large corpus of work to revisit previous points and clarify positions he thought needed further reinforcement.

This blog is my collection of work before it all gets retracted. In a sense, it's just ramblings. But, you know, anchor it to a big important Late Antiquity work and it will accidentally steal some of that gravity. Or something.
